31,523 products from the FishMag commerce site, rendered by the front end straight from the data. This is a proof that the data is usable and a way to see what is in it — not a shop and not an admin tool.
Three numbers get confused here, so: 31,523 is every product this shop LISTS. 12,333 of those are FOR SALE, which needs the catalogue entry switched on AND the shop listing it — that is the figure the commerce API returns and what a customer can buy. 238 are listed with the catalogue entry switched off. Until 2026-09-27 this screen said 27,435, because it asked which products FISHMAG owns rather than which it sells, and quietly missed 4,088 of them.
Filters combine — picking a brand keeps the category you already chose, and every combination is a plain bookmarkable URL you can edit by hand (?brand=Fox&category=Sea). With JavaScript off each chip still filters, one facet at a time. No free-text search yet: the engine's query filter matches a field exactly (C58), and combining is script-side until C60.
Supplier, Colour, Length and Breaking strain are all single-value filters over multi-value data, so read them with that in mind. Supplier is whoever sells it at the price shown — the cheapest offer — and 4,733 products have more than one, so filtering by Veals finds the products Veals is cheapest on, not everything Veals stocks. Two things to know. These chips are the most common values, not the whole vocabulary - Colour alone has 5,003 distinct values and the top twenty cover about a quarter of them, so the long tail is reachable only by typing an exact value in the address bar. And a product can hold many values: these columns and filters use the PRIMARY one, with a +N more count showing how many others there are. A lure sold in 78 colours is real data, not a fault. Filtering on any-of-many needs the engine to match inside a list, which it cannot do yet (C61) - the commerce API already can.
